I don't much care for self-serve kiosks as I like the personal touch but over here at this place it was very workable and I quite enjoyed it! The only problem I had was my food was not even hot or lukewarm. It was cold. I ordered the mahi-mahi vegetables and rice The rice wasn't even rice. It felt like it was some kind of powdered something you might wanna entertain getting sticky rice. It works better for dishes like this. I didn't wanna wait so I just ate my food! My husband's food on the other hand, he ordered the fish and chips and the shrimp, and that was delicious. It was hot and enjoyable.

First time here. Never walked in since it never looks busy. I should have figured it's busy since there's never any parking available. When you walk in, turn left and get in the line. There's a walk way from the door to the front of the order line. I watched every single person who tried to bypass the line go to the back of the line. You order through the kiosk screen, which is not organized at all in the same way as the menu posted...which is also not set up the same way as the website. After figuring out how to order what we wanted to order, the food came out fairly quickly. The fish and shrimp were crispy and fried. It had to be eaten at the restaurant because it would not have made it home and still been that crispy. Overall, would come back here again.

This hidden gem between Sephora and Nordstrom Rack! Healthy, fresh ingredients ALWAYS on point! The hardworking men and women! Thank you for your hospitality and your kindness! Always fresh and clean from moment you enter this

The Yelp community did not let me down. It's been a minute since we've dined at California fish grill. I've been wanting to but something or the other just wouldn't work out. Then by a stroke of luck we happened to need to be in the area and I took one look at the yelp ratings and made my decision. The dynamite shrimp bowl is exactly as one of the reviews described. It's got pepper spice but it's not quite dynamite, (for me but was exactly what I wanted). The grilled swai plate with keto overtones was our other choice and it was perfectly done. Ordering and pickup from the counter is self serve. The restaurant was full but not overcrowded . It was clean and appeared to be child compatible (I didn't check for changing tables). Prices were reasonable, portions were alright (no leftovers, but this isn't food you'd want to have leftovers for anyway. It feels like it would be best fresh.) Plating was visually appealing. Service at pickup was quick. Definitely going back. The only thing that was not great was cell service. I wasn't able to look at pictures which is why I ended up reading through reviews before I got to the restaurant. Once you are at the restaurant there are pictures galore but it's nice to see what other yelpers think before trying a place.

Good ol' California Fish Grill. When I used to frequent a SoCal location and their fries were soooo good and hot. I feel like the fries at this Daly City/NorCal location are lower in quality and execution. Maybe they need to fry them fresh/made to order here? This place is more like 4.5 stars but I rounded up because I want to see them succeed. Still there aren't many places where you can get a variety of good quality fish and a side for about $15. It's a great price, especially for dinner. I love that you can choose how you want the fish cooked, the sauce, and the sides. It's a fast casual place with plenty of seating!

Our 19th hole was here today for lunch. Arriving around 1pm the parking spaces were sparse. We parked by the old Mervyns/JC Penny and walked over. Ordering process - use the touch screen or place it verbally with the order taker. 3rd option: Like many eateries you can place an online order and then pickup at the counter. We gave our order verbally which seemed to be quicker. Paid and gave our name for the order. We ate in. When our order was ready hubby picked it up. Served on a big aluminum tray. Hubby went with the ahi tuna poke. I got the shrimp tacos with rice and beans. Food was fresh and tasty. Most tables sat two or four to a table with the exception of two high top tables by the window which sat six. We were party of five so we took that option.
